"How many chickens do we actually have right now?" is a question that comes up more often than you'd think. Same with "are the goats costing us money?" This part of the app keeps track of your animals and what they produce, so you don't have to keep it all in your head.
Create groups for the types of animals you keep — laying hens, meat birds, dairy goats, whatever. Within each group, add individual animals with names, birth dates, and notes. The group page shows you the current headcount, who's alive, who's been sold, and who you've lost.
Supports chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, quail, cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, and bees. Or just "other" if you've got something exotic going on.
Come in from the coop, tap in the egg count, done. Each group gets a quick-log form with smart defaults — chickens default to "eggs," goats to "gallons," bees to "lbs honey." You can see today's total, this week's total, and a 30-day daily average without digging through anything.
The dashboard also has a quick-log row for each group, so you can record eggs from four different flocks without leaving the home screen.
When egg production drops, you want to catch it early — not three weeks later when you vaguely feel like the numbers are low. Having actual daily and weekly totals makes it obvious. Could be shorter days, could be mites, could be nothing. But at least you'll see the dip right away instead of wondering.
You can record purchases, sales, feed costs, vet bills, and other expenses per animal. It adds everything up — total cost, total income, net result — per group and per individual animal. It's basically the answer to "are these animals paying for themselves or not?"
You can also set a market price per unit (like $0.33 per egg or $5 per gallon of milk) and it'll estimate the value of your daily produce. Not a replacement for real bookkeeping, but good enough to know if you're roughly breaking even.
When you sell an animal, record the sale as a transaction and the animal gets marked as sold automatically. Its records stay in the system — you can always look back at what you sold, when, and for how much.
